The 'Guardamar Polimnia' hat rescued more than 100 migrants from distress south of Gran Canaria on Aug 3, 2025. One person died, another was in critical condition and flown to Gran Canaria by helicopter. The French research vessel 'Beautemps-Beaupré' (IMO: 9098361) had initially sighted the overcrowded boat at 6:50 p.m. approximately 185 kilometers off the Moroccan coast near Dakhla. The 'Guardamar Polimnia' was subsequently alerted and reached the area after about 11 hours. Rescue operation south of Gran Canaria. The French naval ship remained nearby at the request of Salvamento Marítimo, until the SAR vessel arrived on scene. The crew of the 'Guardamar Polimnia' took the migrants on board and set course for the port of Arguineguín, Gran Canaria. The seriously injured person was flown to Gran Canaria Airport by the SAR helicopter Helimer 202 and dropped off at 3:55 p.m., An ambulance transported the patient further to a hospital. The rescued migrants arrived at the port of Arguineguín at 8:40 p.m.

On the afternoon of Aug 3, 2025, the Port Authority of the Argosaronic Gulf was informed that upon the arrival of the 'Flying Cat 4' at the port of Piraeus, en route from Spetses-Hydra and Poros, an obstruction was detected in the ship’s propulsion system. The hydrofoil safely disembarked its 256 passengers. The Port Authority banned the ship from sailing, until the damage was repaired and a certificate of class maintenance was presented by the monitoring classification society.
TRIANGLE
On Aug 2, 2025, at 11.20 p.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Triangle', with six crew members on board, n the Markermeer, en route to Schokkerhaven, at the height of the Oostvaarders dike in Lelystad. The crew was unable to contain the blaze. The ship was berthed, and could be evacuated in time with no injuries reported. The fire department deployed several vehicles to extinguish the fire and got it under control within half an hour. Also the KNRM responded to the alert and dispatched a lifeboat. The damage to the engine room was extensive. The amount of smoke that was released was particularly playing a role.. The cause of the fire was unknown at this stage. After the investigations, the propulsion of the 'Triangle could be restored, and the ship was able to resume its voyage under its own power a few hours after the incident. On Aug2, 2025, at 2.40 p.m. the ''El Djazair II' got in motion during the disembarkation of vehicles aat the dock in the port of Marseille, Several cars on the ramp were threateedto fall into the water. The vehicles belonged to members of the Algerian diaspora, who were waiting to collect their belongings after the crossing. The accident could have cost the lives of people who were still in their vehicles. The port authorities quickly opened an investigation to determine the causes of the incident, which seems to have been contributed to an improper mooring of the vessel, combined with the failure to properly install the ramp for cars to the quay. The boats were decommissioned in 2016 with the 7. Speed Boat Squadron in Rostock. A first attempt toto load the boats had failed in November 2024 because too much marine growth had accumulated on the hull due to the long lay-up, so that the straps could not be safely attached. On Aug 4, 2025, the sailing yacht 'Black Swan' requested assistance because it was adrift at the Valencia anchorage. The CCS of Salvamento Marítimo deployedd the 'Salvamar Pollux' to assist, which took the boat in tow and pulled it to the loca Yacht Club, where it was safely moored.

On Agu 4 at noon, the Volos Port Authority was informed by the Captain of the 'Iolkos', that a 64-year-old passenger of Albanian nationality required immediate hospital treatment. The ship returned to the port of Volos, where the patient was safely disembarked and then transported by ambulance to the Volos General Hospital for further medical treatment. A preliminary investigation was conducted by the Volos Central Port Authority.

On Aug 4, 2025, the Spanish hospital ship 'Juan de la Cosa' (IMO: 9328156) requested medical evacuation for a crew member of the fishing vessel 'Nuestro Padre Tonino', which was located 35 nautical miles north of Gijón. The CCS Gijón of Salvamento Marítimo deployed the SAR boat 'Salvamar Rigel' (MMSI: 224003390) for this purpose, which took the fisherman off and transferred him to the port of Gijón, where an ambulance was waiting for further transport to hospital for medical care on a higher level.

On the afternoon of Aug 4, 2025, the Rafina Port Authority was informed by the Captain of the 'Super Ferry' about the injury of a 74-year-old passenger of Chinese nationality, while the ferry was en route from the port of Gavrio in Andros.The man had lost his balance while moving inside the ship, resulting in injuries to her knee and elbow. He was immediately provided with first aid by the ship's crew. After arriving at the port of Rafina, he was transported by ambulance to the Athens General Hospital Korgialenio-Benakio of the Hellenic Red Cross, for futther medical treatment. The ship had sunk at the quay in Hendvågen on May 23 and was lifted the sheerleg 'Hebolift 9 from July 23 to July 28, when it was floating unassisted again.
