The 'KMS Terramare', which was stranded at Newgale Beach on Jan 14, was successfully refloated on the evening of Jan 15. The St Davids Lifeboat was called out at 7:59 p.m. to provide salvage pumps and escort the vessel towards Milford Haven. Despite assistance from the Angle RNLI and local Coastguard teams, the attempt to enter the Port of Milford Haven was denied, forcing it to return towards Broad Haven, where it was anchored. The St Davids Lifeboat returned to station at 4:10 a.m. However, the lifeboats were called out for a third time at 10:35 a.m. to assist the 'KMS Terramare', which was intentionally beached on the morning of Jan 15 on the outgoing tide. Pollution experts were on alert as concerns mount over potential environmental risks. instead anchoring off Broad Haven. On Jan 17, with additional salvage pumps, the vessel finally made it to Pembroke Dock under the supervision of a tug and with no further need for lifeboat support. The ship was conducting operations on behalf of Vodafone, surveying subsea cables to connect high-speed fibre optic services from Ireland to Brawdy Business Park. On the morning of Jan 16, 2025, the Port Authorities of Ierapetra, Agia Galini, Kala Limeni, Kokkinos Pyrgos, Chora Sfakion and Paleochora were informed by the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Greek Coast Guard about a migrant boat in trouble about 50 nautical miles south of Crete. The 36 castaways were picked up by the 'San Felix', hat was sailing in the area, en route from Marsaxlokk to Tanger Med. They were then transferred to a lifeboat of the Coast Guard and safely transported to the port of Agia Galini. They were then taken to Rethymno, where they were temporarily housed in a shelter. A preliminary investigation was conducted by the Agia Galini Port Station.
SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE
On Jan 18, 2025, at dawn, the 'Spirit of Adventure', en route from Las Palmas to Portsmouth, UK, which was sailing about 23 miles west of Cabo Fisterra, requested the urgent medical evacuation of an 80-year-old passenger. Salvamento Maritimo mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 401 from the Fisterra Rescue Center. The woman was hoisted aboard and transferred to the A Coruña airport. It landed in Alvedro at 6:00 a.m., and an ambulance transported the patient to hospital from there.

There was no basis for a criminal investigation into the crew of the tanker "Eagle S" in connection with the shipment of Russian oil, the Finnish customs service stated on Jan 16. The ship is believed to be part of the Russian shadow fleet, which is circumventing Western sanctions against Russia's lucrative oil exports. The customs service has seized the oil. The Finnish authority reiterated that the ship's cargo consisted of products that are subject to sanctions. However, the ship is only in Finnish waters because the crew was asked to sail there by the authorities. Therefore, they have not deliberately acted in violation of the sanctions, the customs service clarified. It is not clear what consequences this may have for the crew in this case.
LOCH RIDDON
The 'Loch Riddon', serving on the route Tobermory - Kilchoan, suffered a technical issue affecting one of the ramps on Jan 6, 2025. As a consequence, the ship had to operate single ended until further notice. The issue has been resolved only on Jan 18, and the vessel was no longer operating normal again.

On the early morning of Jan 18, 2025, the Port Police of the port of Gijón informed Salvamento Marítimo, that the 'Plaia de Rueta', which was berthed at the Rendiello dock, had suffered a leak was in danger if sinking with a list to port side. They requested collaboration to pump out the water. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Rígel' was mobilized and also the Gijón Fire Department was alerted. The involved rescue forces managed to drain the water out with several motor pumps. The fishing vessel was stabilized at midday. Later, the crew of the ship proceeded to repair the leak. On Jan 17, 2025, several departures of migrant boats were reported to the CROSS Gris-Nez roff the coast of Pas-de-Calais (62). In the middle of the afternoon, the CROSS deployed the 'DFP1-Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' to locate a migrant boat in the area of the former Walde lighthouse off the coast of Calais. Once on scene, the crew launched its semi-rigid boat to make contact with the boat and assess the situation. The patrol boat began close surveillance of the boat and launched a second semi-rigid boat in the late afternoon given the request for assistance made by the migrants following the breakdown of the engine. 68 migrants were picked up and dropped off at the quay n Calais, where they were taken care of by shore based rescue services at the end of the day.
SALVAMAR ADHARA
On Jan 17, a precarious boat was located 10 nautcal miles south of El Hierro. Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Adhara' to the scene, which escorted the cayuc to La Restinga. On board were 67 people, among them four women, and baby, from sub-Saharan origin. SWITZERLAND
On the morning of Jan 19, 2025, a hand grenade was found on the waterfront of Mook on the Maas where the reception ship 'Switzerland' is moored, by an employee of the ship. An explosives scout from the Limburg police examined the hand grenade and immediately called in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service of the Ministry of Defence. The approximately 80 Ukrainian residents of the ship were evacuated. It was initally found likely to be a grenade from the Second World War. It has now been determined that the grenade is not real. The residents of the shelter ship, about 80 people who, were taken to the town hall during the investigation, could return home. On Jan 18, 2025, the 'FWN Atlantide', en route from Aliaga to Rostock, allided with the tail struckture of the new southern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel, just after this had been put back in operaton after the allision incident with the Cyprus flagged containe m/v 'Nordic Porto', 12514 gt (IMO: 9448671), on Jan 16 and the subsequent removal of debris. The incident was investigated, while the ship was moored inside the lock, and it was permitted to continue its eastbound voyage with an ETA as of Jan 19.
SEACOR OHIO
On the morning of Jan 19, 2025, a fire broke out in the engine room of the ''Seacor Ohio', which is docked at Mjølstadneset in Fosnavåg, Herøy (Møre og Romsdal Police District). Emergency services were alerted to the scene, and the fire was brought under control. The ship had to be evacuated, no one was injured. The engine room was ventilated once the fire was out. The amount of damage was unclear. The police has cordoned off the scene, and an investigation has been opened.
