On the morning of Jan 16, 2025, the Port Authorities of Ierapetra, Agia Galini, Kala Limeni, Kokkinos Pyrgos, Chora Sfakion and Paleochora were informed by the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Greek Coast Guard about a migrant boat in trouble about 50 nautical miles south of Crete. The 36 castaways were picked up by the 'San Felix', hat was sailing in the area, en route from Marsaxlokk to Tanger Med. On Jan 17, 2025, several departures of migrant boats were reported to the CROSS Gris-Nez roff the coast of Pas-de-Calais (62). On the morning of Jan 19, 2025, a fire broke out in the engine room of the ''Seacor Ohio', which is docked at Mjølstadneset in Fosnavåg, Herøy (Møre og Romsdal Police District).
