On Sep 6 the pleasure boat 'Emma' with six people on board, among them one1 baby, which was located near Torrenova in the Bay of Palma, requested towing assistance and indicates that it was drifting owards the rocks. The CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Libertas' and a civil protection boat, which was in the Lima Uno area, and after a towing connection was established, the boat could be pulled to safety.

On Sep 7, 2024, at around 2 p.m., the 'Navios Celestial' was in allision with the bulk carrier 'Friendly Island' (IMO: 9615042) at Chattogram Port. The incident took place when the 'Navois Celestial', carrying a cargo of DAP fertiliser, hit the 'Friendly Island', which was anchored and unloading lentils, with its starboard side stern at the bow. The impact caused damage to both vessels, including the propellers of one vessel becoming stuck. An investigation is underway by the local port authorities to determine the cause of the accident. As of Sep 9, the 'Friendly Island' was moored in pos. 22° 16' N 091° 43' E, and the 'Navios Celestial' in pos. 22° 17' N 091° 42' E.

TYNDALL
The 'Tyndall', en route from Mobile, being loaded with approximately 100,000 tons of cargo, suffered an engine malfunction when arriving at the port of Tampa on Sep 5, 2024 with pilot assistance. The vessel had a speed of 1.5 knots while approaching the dock in Tampa Bay. When the ship was 200 feet from docking, the pilot ordered the engine to reverse to slow down the vessel, but the engine did not start reversing, and the 'Tyndall' continued moving forward, posing risks to another vessel, the cargo crane, and the docking area. The pilot at once changed the course of the ship and called for two tugs to get itl under control. Eventually, the vessel slowed down and went past the berth without crashing into other ships and port infrastructure. The incident was reported to the U.S. Coast Guard, and the vessel underwent a thorough investigation before getting the approval for the departure from the port en route to Puerto Cortes on Sep 7.
