The responsibility for this lapse was lying with the coxswain, who failed to conduct the required checks and drain the tanks in time.

A medical emergency occurred on board the "AidaPerla", which had just departed from Hamburg to Nordfjordeid, on July 26, 2025, and triggered a rescue operation on the Elbe River near Stade.
