TRUE CONFIDENCE

piracy

The 'Truie Cnfidence' has been sold for recycling on an as-is basis in the UAE after having been severely damaged by a missile fired by the Houthi terrorists 50 nautical miles southwest of the port city of Aden on March 6, with three crew members being killed, becoming the first human casualties of the Houthi’s attacks on shipping transiting the Red Sea that started in November 2023. Four other members had suffered severe burns. After the wreck was towed to UAE waters by a salvage tug, it has been languishing ever since. The Houthis claimed they had attacked the ship due to its links to US company Oaktree Capital Management, although it would later emerge that its Middle Eastern owners were based in Greece and had acquired it in December 2023.
