Fire in engine room
On Oct 29, 2013, at 11.30 a.m. the lifeboats of Den Helder and Callantsoog were alarmed after a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Branding - TX 38" in the Schulpengat. The ship was left without propulsion. Also the Belgian frigate "Leopold 1", the "P 49" and the tug "Hunzepark" responded. When the "Joke Dijkstra" reached the ship, the power had already been restored, and the lifeboat returned to Den Helder. The "Joke Dijkstra" and the "P 49" escorted the vessel to the fish market in Den Helder. The ship could return to sea again already the same afternoon.
