Houthis attacked more ships

Mon Jun 24 09:48:07 CEST 2024 Timsen

A missile attack was carried out on the 'Stolt Sequoia', sailing in the Indian Ocean, en route from Manamah to Le Havre on June 23, 2024. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported two incidents at different locations. As per UKMTO, in the early hours of June 23, they received a report of an attack on a vessel 65 nautical miles west of Al Hudaydah. The captain reported that the vessel was stuck by an uncrewed aerial system (UAS), which caused damage. No casualties were reported, and the vessel continued sailing towards its next port call. Later that day the UKMTO reported another incident from a distressed vessel 96 nautical miles southeast of Nishtun. The captain reported flooding in the vessel that grew beyond control, and he ordered the crew to abandon the vessel. The crew evacuated the vessel and were rescued by an another ship, which came to assist. The distressed vessel remained adrift in pos. 14 31 N 053 08 E. The UKMTO confirmed the incident as a SOLAS incident.
