Fender damaged during mooring manoever

Tue Jan 14 10:41:40 CET 2020 Timsen

On Jan 10, 2020, at 4.50 p.m. the 'Bro Nakskov', enroute from Hamburg to Kaliningrad, severely damaged a wooden fender in the large northern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel during the mooring manoever. The forespring got stuck under the fender which was fixed at the wall of the lock. When it was straightened, the fender broke in two. An investigation was launched into the accident. The ship was allowed to continue the voyage to Kaliningrad without restrictions and arrived in port on Jan 12 at 5 p.m.
