Fri Jul 27 19:01:34 CEST 2018 Timsen

The "Lavr" ran aground in the Don estuary while proceeding downstream to the Azov Sea on July 26, 2018, at 11.25 p.m. The vessel was en route from Rostov-on-Don to Poti with a cargo of 4,500 metric tonnes of coal. Before the grounding, the crew noticed the barge and pusher "Priboy" in its way, manoeuvring, at approximately 10.15 p.m. The barge finally blocked the fairway and being fully astern with its attempts to avoid collision, the "Lavr" ran aground on the river's port side. All crew were safe. Four tugs assisted the vessel. The vessel was partially discharged and has been refloated on July 27 with the assistance of the tugs "Portovyy-22" and "KPS-170". After receiving back the cargo she was to continue the voyage to Georgia.
