Ferry suffered issue with ramp
The 'Loch Ranza', serving on the route Taynloan-Gigha, suffered a technical issue with the aft ram pm ;ay 31. As a consequence, p, the ferry was operating single ended. and vehicles may be required to reverse on or off the vessel. The scheduled departures from Tayinloan at 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and from Gigha at 11.30 a,m, and 123p.m. were cancelled for investigations into the issue. After it was resolved, the sailings from Tayinloan at 4:00 p.m,. and from Gigha at 4:30 p.m. were reinstated.
Ferry suffered main engine issue
On May 8, the 'Loch Ranza', serving on the route Tayinloan-Gigha, suffered a technical issue affecting the forward main engine of the ferry, Spares were required to carry out a full repair. As a result, all remaining sailings of the day have been cancelled. After the repairs have been completed, the service was operated again according to timetable on May 9.
Essential investigations on the engine caused cancellations over several days
The 'Loch Ranza', serving on the route Tayinloan-Gigha had to undeergo essential investigations on the aft main engine since March 14, As a conseuence, the following sailings had to be cancelled: Departure Tayinloan - 12:00 p.m. Departure Gigha - 12:30 p.m The investigations required onthe engine were still going on throught to March 17, on which the following sailings were cancelled: Departure Tayinloan - 12:00 p.m. Departure Gigha - 12:30 p.m. The service was expected to resume with the 2:00 p.m. departure from Tayinloan. On March 18, the trouble has still not been resolved, and as a consequence the scheduled departures from Gigha at 07:35 a.m., 08:30 a.m., 09:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and from Tayinloan at 08:00 a.m., 09:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. had to be cancelled. After the repairs were completed, the ship returned to its schedule on March 19.
