Seaman blames ship operator for injuries

A seaman is suing an offshore shipping business, alleging its negligence led to him sustaining injuries. Robert Wiltz filed a lawsuit July 14 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Island Ventures LLC, alleging negligence in failing to provide a seaworthy vessel. According to the complaint, on April 19, 2015, while aboard the M/V Kobe Chouest in the Gulf of Mexico working as a seaman, Wiltz sustained severe injuries to his neck and spine causing him to suffer loss of wages, physical and emotional pain and suffering, and permanent disability. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide a safe vessel to work, failed to give warnings to its workers and failed to provide a well-planned operation. http://louisianarecord.com/stories/510977080-seaman-blames-ship-operator-for-injuries
