Ferry suffered engine issue

The 'Isle of Arrans', operating on the route Kennacraig-Port Askaig-Port Ellen, suffered an engine issue on April 7. As a conseuence, the schedule 09:20 a.m. arrival in Kennacraig was delayed by approx. 30 minutes. This had a knock on affect to the 10:00 a.m. departure from Kennacraig, which was diverted to Port Askaig and not Port Ellen as timetabled. The 12:45 p.m. departure took place from Port Askaig.

Ferry suffered gearbox issue

The 'Isle of Arran', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue affecting the gearbox, on March 23. As a consequence, the following sailings have been cancelled: Departure Oban at 09:55 a.m. Departure Craignure at 11:10 a.m. Departure Oban – 3:50 p.m Departure Craignure – 5:00 p.m. After the issue was resolved, the ferry returned to service on March 24 with the 06:45 p.m. departure from Oban as scheduled.

Ferry capacity was reduced due to technical issue

The 'Isle of Arran', sailing on the route Oban-Colonsay, suffered technical issues affecting the lifeboat davit and the starboard side FRB on March 8, 2025. As a consequence, there will was a reduction in the maximum number of people on board since. The booking system has been updated to reflect this reduction. Repair plans were being worked on, and the operator CalMac was in the process of arranging attendance from specialist engineers to rectify the issues. On March 12, the technical issue affecting the lifeboat davit and Starboard FRB on the ferry has been resolved, and the full passenger capacity has thus been re-instated.
