On Feb 27, 2016, around midday the river cruise ship "Amadeus“, 1566 gt, was in collsion with the "Frankenberg“, 622 ts (EU-No.: 4018100). At 12.30 p.m. the cabin cruise ship, while passing under the railway bridge at Kitzingen, veered off its course, came perpendicular to the fairway and slammed with the bow into the stern of the "Frankenberg" which was moored at the shore. The cabin block of the barge suffered significant damage at starbiard sude, and she broke lose from the moorings and had to be pulled back to the shore by another barge, where she was secured by its crew. When the "Amadeus" backed off, she got onto the embankment above the Kitzinger lck, where she also caused considerable damage. Then the cabin cruiser could be berthed near the lock and attended by the fire rescue of Kitzingen and the police Würzburg. The damage caused was estimated to be several tenthousand Euros.
