Water ingress in bow thruster room

Wed Feb 24 17:42:05 CET 2016 Timsen

The "Dirkje", 1153 ts (EU-No.: 02315127), suffered water ingress near the Hilter lock on the Dortmund-Ems-Canal on Feb 24, 2016. The ship was secured underneath the lock with a flooded foreship. At 11.50 a.m., after having passed the lock in the direction of Dörpen, the master remarked a leak in the bow thruster room. Then the whole foreship was flooded. The cause of the water ingress was actually still unclear. German report with photos: http://www.noz.de/lokales/lathen/artikel/674969/binnenschiff-schlagt-bei-schleuse-hilter-leck#gallery&0&0&674969
