The Batam VTS immediately contacted the KN 'Tanjung Datu' which was patrolling near the position. At 05.00 WIB the patrol boat arrived on scene. The theft was carried out by two people who had managed to climb onto the ship and enter through the stern. The thieves took 44 engine spare parts from the engine room and injured one of the crew members at his hand. The perpetrators managed to escape via the stern using a lifeboat. A second operation targeted the 'Delonix' in the Red Sea, marking the second attack in that region within a week. Yemen's Houthi group announced that they had conducted four military operations, targeting ships in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and Indian Ocean. The spokesperson for the group, the operations were aimed at vessels linked to the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel.

On June 30, 2024, 12 suspicious small boats surrounded the 'Summer Lady' in the Red Sea, about 13 nautical miles from Al Mukha, Yemen. The small craft, including some fast boats and kayak-small boats that were operated unmanned, approached the bul carrier and were 1.5 nautical miles away from the ship. They remained in the vicinity of the vessel for approximately one hour before departing again. The ship continued its voyage from Salalah to Suez with an ETA as of July 4. Later the U.S. Central Command forces destroyed three uncrewed surface vessels (USV) of the Houthi terrorists in the area. It was unclear whether these USV’s were among the 12 boats that had been involved in the incident with the 'Summer Lady'.

U.S. Navy helicopters returned fire and sank three small boats carrying Houthi militants in the Red Sea on June 30, 2024, after U.S. warships responded to a distress call from the 'Maersk Hangzhou,', which had been issued at about 6:30 a.m. LT. The vessel reported that four small boats were attacking it. The small boats, originating from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, fired crew-served and small-arms weapons at the 'Maersk Hangzhou', getting to within 20 meters of the vessel, and attempted to board the vessel. Helicopters from the U.S. ships -- USS 'Eisenhower' and USS 'Gravely' responded and issued verbal calls to the small boats. While the helicopters were in the process of issuing the calls, these fired upon the helicopters with crew served weapons and small arms. Service members aboard the Navy helicopters returned fire and sank three of the four small boats, killing the crews. The fourth boat fled the area. The Houthi terrorits said they lost 10 group members after U.S. forces fired on their vessels.
