On July 9, 2024, the British maritime security agency United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) received a report of an attack on the Maersk Sentosa, transiting through the Red Sea. The incident occurred 180 nautical miles east of Nishtun, Yemen. The captain reported that the vessel experienced a nearby explosion. The vessel did not report any damage and is sailing towards its next port of call. No casualties were reported. The vessel was attacked using various ballistic and wing missiles in the north of the Gulf of Aden. A spokesperson of Houthi terrorists also claimed to have attacked two other vessels, the Marathopolis, sailing in the Arabian Sea, and the MSC Patnaree III in the Gulf of Aden using drones. Earlier on July 7, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) destroyed two Houthis uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the Houthis-controlled region in Yemen.

The Houthi terrorists announced that they fired several cruise missiles aimed at the 'Anvil Point' in the Indian Ocean, something later refuted by the operators of the ship. Despite the Houthi claims, it has been reported that the 'Anvil Point' was seen docked in Duqm, Oman, as of July 1, 2024, provnig the Houthi statements regarding the timing and location of their attacks as false.

The 'Verbena', which had been attacked by Houthi terrorits with anti-ship cruise missiles and was abandoned by its crew, remained afloat as of July 3, and was waiting to be salvaged. One armed guard on board had been injured during the attack.

On June 27, 2024, at 0.312 a.m. the 'Ivestos 8', en route to Tianjin, was boarded by one unarmed perpetrator near Pulau Iyu Kecil in pos. 1° 10.48' N 103° 28.71' E. The attempt could be thwarted, and nothing was reported stolen.

The remains of two Filipino seafarers of the 'True Confidence' who were killed in a missile attack in the Gulf of Aden, have arrived in the country on July 2, according to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). They were among 15 Filipino crew members of the vessel, which had been the target of an attack by Houthi terrorists on March 6.The other 13 Filipinos have already returned to their country; the first 11 arrived on March 12, while the two who were injured in the incident arrived on March 14. The DMW sprovided assistance to the relatives together with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration. Aside from the two Filipinos, a Vietnamese national also died in the terrorist attack.
