A US Coast Guard helicopter aircrew medevaced a 56-year-old female from the 'Carnival Venezia' approximately 52 miles east of Toms River, New Jersey, on Aug 22, 2024. Coast Guard Sector New York watchstanders received a report from the vessel on Aug 21 at approximately 7:50 p.m. of a passenger experiencing a medical emergency. The duty flight surgeon was consulted and recommended a medical evacuation to a higher level of care. A Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City MH-65 Dolphin aircrew launched and arrived on-scene around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The aircrew successfully hoisted and transported the patient to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in New Jersey. The condition of the patient was unknown.

The 'Conro Trader ' caught fire at the port of Kavkaz on Aug 22, 2024. It was alleged she was hit by Ukraine's anti-ship missile Neptune. The ship later sank due to the damage suffered. The ship has been transporting fuel to Crimea. The vessel was loaded with 30 fuel tanks when it caught fire. Dense black smoke was rising from the ship. There were 15 crew members aboard the vessel, and around five of the, were missing. The US Coast Guard medevaced an ailing man from the 'Autumn' 480 nautical miles off Honolulu on Aug 21, 2024. Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu watchstanders received a call on Aug 18 at 1:45 p.m. from Pacific Fishing & Supply personnel reporting that a 53-year-old crew member aboard the fishing vessel was exhibiting stroke-like symptoms approximately 750 miles offshore. The 'Autumn' estimated they were six days’ transit from Oahu. JRCC Honolulu watchstanders advised the vessel’s master to continue toward Oahu and conferred with the duty flight surgeon, who recommended a medevac. Watchstanders directed the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter 'Harriet Lane' to rendezvous with the Autumn approximately 480 miles offshore Oahu and conduct the medevac. The 'Harriet Lane' rendezvoused with the 'Autumn' on Aug 21 at 4:05 p.m., took aboard the ailing crewman and began transiting ashore. On Aug 23 at 6:30 a.m., a 45-foot Response Boat from the Coast Guard Station Honolulu met the 'Harriet Lane' near the entrance to Honolulu port, took aboard the patient and brought him to Station Honolulu. Emergency medical services personnel then transported the patient to Queen’s Medical Center. He was reportedly in stable condition.
FPSO FLUMINENSE
The FSOP 'Fluminense', which was supposed to call at Frederikshavn on Aug 23, 2024, to be scrapped at the MARS, is currently being towed around the Kattegat by three tugs, as the permission to call at the port has not been obtained. Negotiations were underway between the municipality, which owns the port, and MARS about the conditions for the ship to call at the port. Thevessel is the largest to date scrapped in Frederikshavn.

The 'Escanaba (WMEC 907)' offloaded more than 3,400 pounds of cocaine and 4,410 pounds of marijuana with a combined assessed street value of approximately $50 million in Port Everglades on Aug 23, 2024. It had embarked a Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron aircrew, and Law Enforcement Detachment 107 from Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team Pacific. They worked alongside interagency and international partners to interdict illicit narcotics in the international waters off South America in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Seven suspected smugglers were transferred to federal custody and face prosecution by the U.S. Department of Justice.
