11 migrants rescued off Maspalomas
The Guardia Civil alerted the CCS of Salvamento Marítimo in Las Palmas after having located a precarious boat about 22 nautucal miles from Maspalomas. The 'alvamar Macondo' was mobilized to relocate the boat, and found it after an intense search. in the face of strong winds, the boat was escorted to a more leeward area where the 11 people on board were rescued and disembarked at the port of Arguineguín. 69 migrants assisted in Canary Island waters
On the afternoon of April 1, two cayucos with migrants were troubled in the waters of the Canary Islands. One canoe was located by an echo sounder south of Gran Canaria. The boat, with 21 people on board, was escorted to Arguineguín by the 'Salvamar Macondo'. Another boat issued a distress call and was located by the SAR helicopter Heiimer 204 about 11 nautical miles southwest of La Gomera. Almost 200 migrants assisted in three missions
On the morning of March 8, the 'Salvamar Macondo' rescued 52 people from a cayuco and disembarked them in Arguineguín. After being notified by the Guardia Civil, the 'Salvamar Acrux' and 'Salvamar Adhara' escorted two cayucos with more than 70 people each to La Restinga.
