Ferry sufferred issue with stern doors
An issue with the stern doors on board the 'Red Falcon' has led to the cancellation of at least two sailings on the morning of Aug 15. The 11:00 a.m. sailng from Southampton has been cancelled, as has the 12:30 p.m. departure from East Cowes. It was unclear if the technical issue would lead to any further cancellations throughout the day. Delays were likely.
Sailings cancelled due to technical issue
Red Funnel has cancelled two of the sailings of the 'Ref Falcon' on the evening of July 5, due to a technical issue with the forward main engine. The 8 p.m. sailing from Southampton, and the 9.30 p.m. sailing from East Cowes have both have been cancelled. The cross-Solent operator has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
Ferry suffered exhaust troubles
Two crossings from Southampton, UK, to Cowes, Isle of Wight, had to be cancelled due to an issue with the 'Red Falcon's aft main engine exhaust bellows at Southampton on Sep 3, 2023. As a result, delays of 30-40 minutes were enforced throughout the rest of the morning and the afternoon as staff worked to catch up. Already on Sep 1 there were delays of up to 60 minutes on the service of the 'Isle of Wight' from Southampton to Cowes.
