Yacht grounded off Katarava

During a salvage operation, coordinated by the JRCC Tahiti successfully refloated the 'Nerio', which had run aground after it broke off from its mooring in the southern part of Fakarava. The municipality of Fakarava then deployed its municipal launch, accompanied by a poti marara, to provide assistance. Despite several attempts, the yacht still could not be freed. The JRCC then connected the responders with the company Raiatea Carénage Services to prepare a new operation. On July 6, the municipality of Fakarava once again responded by deploying its municipal launch and barge. Thanks to the advice of the Raiatea Carénage Services, the support of the catamaran 'Roccatea ', and the combined efforts of the teams, the 'Nerio' was finally refloated and safely anchored.
