Ferry suffered engine failure

Ferry suffered generator damage
The owner company of the 'Leros Express' informed on Aug 5, 2024, that due to damage to the ship, it would not execute the scheduled routes until further notice. The Port Authority of Leros was informed by the Master of the ship about a fault that occurred in the generator during the preparation of the ship to run a route from the port of Agia Marina on the route Leipsos – Patmos – Arkios – Agathonisi – Pythagorion Samos and return. Smoke development in engine

The ship sailed with its own power to the port of Agia Marina and disembarked the passengers safely. The Port Authority of Leros prohibited the sailing of the vessel until the damage was repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness presented by the surveyor monitoring the ship.
