Medevac off Rydebäck

The 'Aidanova', en route from Cppenhagen to Kristiansand, stopped at Rydebäck during its northbound transit through the Öre Sound on July 1, 2024. A crew member had fallen ill. A helicopter was sent from Denmark and took the person to a hospital in Copenhagen. The ship was a 14-day voyage that had set off in the port of Kiel on June 29. Crew members of two cruise ships arrested in Kiel

After the "MSC Euribia" and the "Aidanova" berthed in the port of Kiel on June 10, 2023, the federal police arrested two crew members, who will be detained for a total of 905 days. During routine checks of passenger and crew lists, the police officers stumbled upon the arrest warrants for a 33-year-old North Macedonian and a 55-year-old Turkish national aboard the "MSC Euribia" and the "Aidanova" who were each convicted by German courts of violating the Narcotics Act, with the North Macedonian national still having to serve 551 days and the Turkish national still 350 days of imprisonment. The men were taken off the ships and transported to a prison.

Cruise ship speeded to Santa Cruz de Tenerife for medevac

On Feb 14, 2023, a passenger aboard the 'AIDANova', en route from Funchal, fell ill and needed to be medevaced off the Canary Islands. A helicopter was also unable to pick up the patient because visibility was poor due to the Sahara dust in the air. As a result, the ship speeded up towards the next port of call, Santa Cruz upon Tenerife, where it was expected on Feb 15 at 5 a.m. With a speed of 20 knots, the ship made it to the port already on Feb 14 at 7 p.m., where the patient was disembarked.
