Trawler refloated, lifeboat disabled

Sun Oct 26 08:35:25 CET 2014 Timsen

After the "Elisabeth - WR 20" with a crew of two on board ran aground near Den Oever on a sand bank on Oct 24 and requested assistance, the KNRM lifeboat from Callanstoog itself suffere a starboard engine failure. The lifeboat from Den Helder was nearby and was able to respond to the scene. The Den Helder lifeboat found the rough seas and the fishing boat’s gear prevented the lifeboat from providing assistance. The lifeboat stood by to monitor the situation. Finally, the "Elisabeth" was able to refloat itself with the rising tide.
