Engine breakdown off Savona

The 'Tejo Belem', en route from Dikili with a cargo of minerals, suffered a breakdown of the main engine, while approaching the port of Savona in the morning of Jan 19, 2023. The vessel was quickly hooked by two tugs and assisted to reach its berth. Subsequently, repairs were carroed out. However, the vessel in the meanwhile was seized by the Harbour Master, due to deficiencies found under Port State Control. The ship sailed from Savona again on Jan 24 at6.20 p.m., and arrived in Cagliari on Jan 25 at 9.20 a.m.

Technical failure in Canakkale Strait

The 'Tejo Belem', en route from Lisbon to Marmara Eregli suffered a technical failure during the transit of the Canakkale Strait on Feb 22, 2020, at 7 p.m. Subsequently, the vessel was taken to Karanlik liman anchorage, where repair works were commenced by the crew. It left Marmara Ereglesi after repairs on Feb 26 at 12.30 p.m. and headed to Iskenderun, ETA March 1.

In the morning of July 17, 2015, the "Chaves" developed a starboard list at its berth at warehouse 69/70 in the port of Hamburg. A witness called the police, which on arrival couldnot get aboard because the crew was resting. The ship was secured with additional mooring lines. It showed that the ballast water tanks at starboard side had been flooded to be able to repair a small gash in the stern at port side.
