Fish carrier breached in grounding
The "Viktoria Lady" ran aground on Feb 20, 2015, at 10.50 am 20 miles north west of Ullapool in the Badcall Bay. The hull was breached, the fish carrier suffered water Ingress and a starboard list. A search and rescue helicopter was scrambled from Stornoway along with the Lochinver lifeboat and a Coastguard team and helped the crew of seven to cope with water ingress and refloat the vessel. The Lochinver RNLI launched the all-weather lifeboat at 12:15 p.m. and joined the Lochinver Coastguard Rescue Team and the Stornoway SAR helicopter to assist. The all-weather lifeboat remained on scene to monitor the fish carrier until she was able to drop the anchor and the master was confident they were in no further danger. Divers were called to survey the hull and asses damages. The Lochinver lifeboat and the Coastguard rescue team remained on scene monitoring the vessel and checking for any pollution.
