Engine blackout off Ancona
Short after leaving the port of Ancona on July 12, 2017, at 12.45 a.m. bound for Bari, the "Reecon Whale" suffered a breakdown of the main engine and had to be stopped by an emergency anchoring. The ship had the port pilot on board and was assisted by a port tug. After the engines were running again, the ship resumed the voyage and arrived in Bari on July 12 at 5 p.m. where furhter investigatins were carried out in order to ensure the full efficiency of the engine. On July 13 at 10.15 a.m. the ship sailed to Gioia Tauro (Palmi).
