Former Gibraltar bunker storage tanker sold for scrap
The oil tanker Vemabaltic, a fixture of Gibraltar’s bunkering sector for many years, has been sold for scrap, according to shipping brokers. The 28-year old vessel will be broken up and then recycled into building materials in Pakistan. The ship had been used as a floating storage tank by Greek bunker supplier Vemaoil over the past decade. According to the brokers, the ship was sold for $7.7m.
