Lowestoft RNLI boat aided crew member of trawler
The RNLI Shannon-Class relief Lifeboat "Reg" launched from Lowestoft on Aug 1, 2017, just before 8 p.m. to go to the aid of a crew member on the "Aart Maaskant - UK 95" which was six miles north-east of Lowestoft. The trawler based in Ijmuiden had been fishing off the coast when they received news of a death in their family and they called for help to bring one of the crew ashore so that he could return home. The "Reg" landed the man at the Lifeboat Station where our Chaplin, Senior Superintendent Tim Jenkins, met him. Tim then drove him to Norwich ready for a flight back to the Netherlands in the morning. Report with photo: https://rnli.org/news-and-media/2017/august/05/a-busy-week-for-lowestoft-rnli-lifeboat-crew
