Water ingress in arrested casualty ship

On Feb 2, 2020, the 'Tokay Akar' suffered water ingress in the forepeak water ballast tanks, engine room and bottom section of superstructure due to various holes, cracks and bents in Samsun. In order to minimize the water ingress, the foreship was pulled onto the shore by port duty stevedore team. The High court was yet to approve the auction of the vessel and it remained under arrest. The ship had dragged anchor and grounded at Samsun's fishing port breakwater on Aug 14, 2016 in bad weather, suffering serious structural damage to the port side bottom sections and the bulbous bow.
