Near collision off Gibraltar
The "Maritime Unity" nearly collided with the bulkcarrier "Furious" on Apr 9, 2017, in the Bay of Gibraltar. At 6.30 p.m., as the bulkcarrier was leaving the harbour, the "Maritime Unity" came close to crashing into the vessel after its course was affected by a strong gust of wind. However, there was no contact between the ships, with the "Maritime Unity" sailing on to her next port of call Bejaia, ETA Apr 11. The "Furious" was underway from Taranto to Nouadhibou.
