Trawler disabled due to engine room fire

On Feb 14, 2025, shortly after 10:00 a.m. Kystradio Nord and HRS received a Mayday call after smoke was detected in the engine room the 'Thea Mathilde' with five crew members on board, on the outer side of Husøy. The Norwegian Coast Guard mobilized a rescue helicopter from Tromsø, which hoisted two people from board, who had been exposed to smoke who were taken to Tromsø for a medical check-up. The helicopter landed at Langnes around 11:45 a.m. The life boat 'Kaptein Buhro' from the NSSR station in Husøyand nearby vessels were assisting the casualty, The smoke development was brought under control.
