Boskalis ship attacked in Guinea by six robbers

Sat Jul 09 10:18:53 CEST 2016 arnekiel

Earlier this week(July 8), according to the International Maritime Bureau's Piracy Reporting Centre, six robbers in a boat armed with machine guns and knives boarded an anchored heavy lift vessel - believed to be the Boskalis ship Teal - at Conakry Anchorage in Guinea. The report states that the robbers attacked the duty ordinary seaman, causing injuries, and took the second officer hostage, before opening fire to threaten the crew members and damaging the accommodation. The robbers then stole cash and personal belongings from the crew members before escaping. According to the report, the ship's master tried to contact the port control but received no response. The incident was reported to port authorities through the local agents. After an hour a security boat arrived at the location, said the report. http://www.heavyliftpfi.com/news/boskalis-ship-attacked-in-guinea.html
