Shearwater GeoServices awarded 3D survey in the Barents Sea from Wintershall Norge AS

Shearwater GeoServices Norway AS has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Wintershall Norge AS for a 3D survey of Blocks PL 768/768B in the Barents Sea, the company said in its press release. The survey covers approximately 965 square kilometers and will be acquired using the Polar Empress in direct continuation of the vessel's ongoing survey in the Barents Sea. "This is an important project for Shearwater and we are very pleased to receive this strategic proprietary award from a well established Norwegian operator in an active exploration area. The Shearwater fleet has significant experience operating in the Barents Sea over many years, and by design is capable of operating efficiently and safely in this harsh environment to support our clients in their exploration efforts. The work program includes delivery of Shearwater's advanced Pre & Post Stack Time Processing and Imaging products, further assisting our client's decision making processes" commentedCOO Peter Hooper.

Dolphin’s New 3D Seismic Vessel, Polar Empress, Fully Operational In The Barents Sea

Dolphin is pleased to announce that the newly delivered high-capacity 3D seismic vessel, Polar Empress, is in full production towing 14 streamers on the Maud Extension Multi-Client survey in the Barents Sea. The vessel will in end of June mobilise for an exclusive contract with duration in excess of three months. The special purpose built seismic vessel, Polar Empress, is one of the most advanced vessel in the industry today. The vessel has a capacity to operate up to 22 seismic streamers, a total installed engine capacity of 22800 KW, a bollard pull in excess of 275 tons and a top transit speed in excess of 20 knots.
