Tanker with Russian oil permitted to dock in Barcelona

Wed Jun 01 09:48:38 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'Sunny Liger' has docked in port of Barcelona on May 31, after more than a month of lingering around with a cargo of Russian oil. The ship was berthed at the Moll South APM Terminal at 3.10 a.m. It had sailed from Primorsk on April 24.

Tanker with Russian oil will be turned away from Gibraltar

Wed May 11 11:23:24 CEST 2022 Timsen

The 'Sunny Liger', which is currently en route to Gibraltar with a cargo of Russian oil, will be prevented from entering British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, receiving any services at the port or offloading its cargo. The ship is due to arrive on May 11. The Port Authority is keeping a close eye on all approaching ships in case they have links with Russian and will thus be turned away.

Sunny Liger left Dutch waters after a week

Sun May 08 21:23:27 CEST 2022 Timsen

The Sunny Liger' has left the waters of IJmuiden on May 8. She was initially destined for Sweden, but dock workers there resisted mooring. The ship then set course for the Netherlands, where it arrived first in Rotterdam. There, too, port employees refused to unload the oil tanker out of solidarity with their Swedish colleagues, with the result that the 'Sunny Liger' came to Amsterdam. After being anchored off the coast at IJmuiden for days, the ship has now left, headed to Gibraltar. Because the ship does not sail under the Russian flag, it is not subject to sanctions imposed because of the war in Ukraine. However, resistance soon arose in the Netherlands because the ship contained a cargo of Russian gas oil.
