Hydraulic failure in Rostock
On Feb 23, 2020, short past 9 p.m. the master of the 'Summit Success' reported a failure of the ship's hydraulic system to the traffic control Warnemünde. The ship was about to enter the seaport of Rostock, coming from Suez. Due to the failure the winches could not be used. The master decided to stop the ship by an emergency anchoring manoever. Four tugs which were deployed to assist the vessel upon entering the port were connected manually. After repairs the ship could be docked at berth 17 in Rostock with a delay of four hours. The police went on board for inspections, and the master was routinely drug-tested with negative result. The vessel left the port of Rostock again on March 2 at 8 p.m., headed to Skagen, ETA March 4.
