Barge aground off Harlingen
On Nov 12, 2015, at noon the "Con Celo", 2167 ts (EU-No.: 2318505), got out of the fairway Harlingen-Kornwerderzand (Boontjes) and got stuck between the buoys BO44 and BO42. The ship was carrying a cargo of salt and enroute from Amsterdam to Gent. The tour boat "Regina Andrea", the "Hurricane" of Noordgat salvors, two tugs of the Tuinman company and the lifeboat "Wiecher"of the KNRM station Harlingen were soon on scene and tried to refloat the ship, unfortunately without success. In the evening during the high tide another attempt was to be carried out. The salvage ship "Hurricane" remained on standby in the meantime. Also a boat of Rijkswaterstaat was attending. With the rising tide the "Hurricane" was able to get the "Con Zelo" off again which was able to continue its voyage.
