Stroombank resumed voyage

Collision in Kiel

In the Holtenau-locks of the Kiel Canal the British flagged cargo m/v "Heinrich Ehler" (IMO: 9372200), was in collision with the Dutch cargo vessel "Stroombank", 2999 gt (IMO: 9356543), on June 10, 2011, at 2 p.m. The accident happened when the British vessel was unable to stop in time and ran into the stern of the other ship, thereby causing significant damage. While the "Stroombank", which was coming from Bandirma, was ot allowed to proceed during the time of investigations, the "Heinrich Ehler" was allowed to continue the voyage to Rotterdam at 3.30 p.m.
