Tanker grounded on Wester Schleldt
On June 10, 2016, the "STI St. Charles" ran aground between Rilland and the Verdronken Land of Saeftinghe on the Westerschelt. The ship had left Antwerpen onderweg around midday bound to Lomé, Togo. The "RWS 79" of Rijkswaterstaat and the tug "Union Hawk" attended. The tanker which was carrying 37000 tons oil refloated with the rising Tide with own power.
