Woman medevaced after fall from wheelhouse

In the afternoon of Sep 21, 2014, the lifeboats of the KNRM stations Blaricum and Marken were called for a medevac after a woman had fallen from the wheelhouse one deck below on the "Stedemaeght" at 3.15 p.m. and lost consciousness. The "Blaricum-1" headed for the position, northeast of the island Pampus where two crewmembers are transferred to assess the situation. The a patient had reduced consciousness and complained of pain in the shoulder. The lifeboat "Hendrik Jacob van Marken" meanwhile reached the site, and also the lifeboat "Frans Verkade" arrived with ambulance personnel on board. The paramedics stabilized the woman and made her ready for transport. It was decided to proceed to calmer water where patient was transferred onboard the "Franks Verkade" on a stretcher and taken to the waiting ambulance in the Marina Volendam.
