Tank ship under suspicion of embezzlement of cargo
On Oct 14, 2015, at 9 a.m. a shortfall of 4,5 tons diesel in the handling of the "Lire" at port of Hanau was repoprted to the water police Frankfurt. There is a suspicion of embezzlement of cargo. Based on the charging papers, it was found that even when loading the cargo in Antwerp there was a difference of about 2,2 tons. Aboard the tanker about 4,5 tons of product could be found in the pipe system. Of these, about 3,2 tons could be delivered to shore. The cargo residues remained on board. The investigation was ongoing.
