Tankers in collision

On the Lek at Nieuw-Lekkerland thetank barges "Somtrans XXVII", 8701 ts (ENI-No.: 02336447) and "Eurostar", 8556 ts (ENI-No.: 06105232), were in collision in the afternoon of Nov 16, 2018. Nobody has been injured, and there was no spill of cargo. The "Somtrans XXVII" was loaded with petroleum (NAFTA, 1268) which is considered as a dangerous chemical. The tanker dropped ancho on the river near Nieuw-Lekkerland. Rijkswaterstaat carried out its investigations on the spot. The "Eurostar", which was not loaded during the collision, proceeded to Rotterdam. Rijkswaterstaat and the Seaport Police were both investigating the causes of the accident.
