Crew of Sicilian trawler Airone captures hijackers

Sicilian fishing vessel Airone was hijacked by Libyan gunmen on Apr 16 or 17, while under way in international waters off Libyan coast. The crew managed to lock the hijackers in a hold, and reported the incident to authorities. As of 1300 UTC Apr 17, according to Italian media, AIRONE was steaming to Lampedusa, escorted by Italian Navy ship. It is understood, that the gunmen claimed to be patrol from Tripoli, and started to search vessel. Source: news.odin.tc
