First Delivery by Titan LNG in German Port of Mukran

Wed Nov 07 10:37:24 CET 2018 arnekiel

DEME’s dredger Scheldt River was refuelled from 7 LNG trucks. Titan LNG, the leading LNG supplier to marine and industrial users in North West Europe, has successfully completed the first-ever LNG bunker delivery at Mukran Port on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea. Truck deliveries enable delivery of LNG anywhere. For vessels that require LNG it is possible to be supplied in German ports at prices below the price of marine gasoil.

Dredger caused oil spill in the Elbe

Wed Aug 15 16:25:52 CEST 2018 Timsen

On Aug 15, 2018, around 1 a.m. the "Schldt River" caused a small oil spill in the Elbe estuary at the height of buoy 53. After the hydraulic hose of the dredger arm broke, the oil was spilt. Most of the oil could be recovered by the crew, but an estimated amount of 150 liters was lost. An oil surveillance flight was launched from Nordholz to monitor the surrounding area. The crew detected a pollution of 2,4 kilometers length and 300 meters width. The police launched an investigation against the39 year old master of the dredger which was working on fairway maintenance between Cuxhaven and Wedel.
