Ferry suffered technical problems

On Nov 29, 2024, the 'Saturnus' suffered a technical fault. As a consequence, the sailings between Svanesund and Kolhättan had to be cancelled at 11.30 a.m. The preliminary forecast of the operator Trafikverket Färjerederi for when the ferry would be in operation again was set for 6 p.m., but already at 1:45 p.m. the ferry resumed sailings according to the timetable, afterf the error was fixed. In the meantime an alternative route was offered via Tjörnbron or via Uddevalla.

Ferry lost thruster in grounding

On Oct 19, 2014, at 9 p.m. the "Saturnus" ran aground between Finnsbo and Skår in the Gullmars Fjord off Lysekil. The ferry lost one thruster in the accident, and oil started to spill out. The patrol boat "KBV 032" was sent to recover as much oil as possible. However, the most of it had dissipated. The Swedish Coast Guard on Oct 23 salvaged the lost thruster. Though the second thruster still worked after the accident, the help of a tug was required to get the ferry to the Fridhems Yard in Lysekil for repairs.
