Yacht towed to Cariño

On May 30, 2025, the sailing yacht ''Sirgal' was disabled 0.6 nautical miles northeast of Cape Ortegal, with three crew members on board, and requested assistance. The 'Salvamar Shaula' was mobilized by the CCS Finisterre of Salvamento Marítimo. It took the boat in tow and safely pulled it to the port of Cariño.

On Aug 14 at 7 a.m. the Spanish oceanographic work vessel 'Lura' suffered rudder problems four nautical miles west of Cape Ortegal and requested towing assistance with four crew members on board. On Aug 1, 2023, the sailing yacht 'Optimus Prime' went adrift about seven nautical miles north of Cabo Ortegal. Salvamento Marítimo deployed the 'Salvamar Shaula' to assist, which took the boat in tow and safely pulled it to Cariño.
