SAR boat rescued two fishermen from liferaft
The Spanish flagged fiishing vessel 'O Padriño' sank six nautical miles northwest of Estaca de Bares on Aug 13. After receiving a signal from the vessel’s radio beacon, Salvamar Shaula located it and rescued its two crew members in good condition, who had already abandoned the fishing vessel and were on board of a life raft. The SAR helicopter Helimer 402 has also been mobilized to inspect the sinking area. The emergency response was coordinated by the CCS Fisterra of Salvamento Marítimo.
Yacht towed to Cariño
On May 30, 2025, the sailing yacht ''Sirgal' was disabled 0.6 nautical miles northeast of Cape Ortegal, with three crew members on board, and requested assistance. The 'Salvamar Shaula' was mobilized by the CCS Finisterre of Salvamento Marítimo. It took the boat in tow and safely pulled it to the port of Cariño.
Work vessel towed to port
On Aug 14 at 7 a.m. the Spanish oceanographic work vessel 'Lura' suffered rudder problems four nautical miles west of Cape Ortegal and requested towing assistance with four crew members on board.
