Yacht salvaged and towed to A Pobra
On June 5, 2025, the sailing vessel 'Mauritania', with two crew members on board, was disabled and adrift near the Pombeiriño lighthouse (O Grove), and requested assistance after grounding on rocks. The CCS Fisterra of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Sargadelos', which took the yacht in tow and safely pulled it to the port of A Pobra. Fishing boat sank near Meloxo, one man died
On Dec 12 at 9.30 a.m, the CCS Fisterra was notified that the f/v 'Hermanos Rey', 25,5 gt, from O Grove, had capsized and sunk near Meloxo (O Grove), after the mussel catch had shifted. The 'Salvamar Sargadelos' and the Pesca 1 rescue helicopter were mobilized to the scene. Two of the three crew members from the same family, were rescued by the boat 'Polaris'. The third, José Rey Domínguez, was found dead by the crew of the 'Nuevo Moldes'. All were taken to Meloxo. The 'Salvamar Sargadelos' has marked the wreck with a beacon. On Dec 13 the 'Hermanos Rey' was refloated by the 'Insuiña Rande' and the auxiliary vessel “Sebastián de Ocampo” along with a specialized technical team. The operation supported by the Galician Coast Guard, and supervised by the port captaincy of Vilagarcía. Fishing boat towed to Aguiñom
On June 25, 0224, at dawn, the wife of the skipper of the fishing boat 'Peoniña was alerted by her husband that the ship needed to be towed after it went adrift in the area of Barqueiras de Sagre (Aguiño), about 100 meters from the stones on the shore. The 'Salvamar Sargadelos' was tasked to assist and took the ship in tow. It was pulled to Aguiñom where it was safely docked at 5.02 a.m. The response was coordinated by the CCS Fisterra of Salvamento Marítimo.
