SAR boat rescued crew of blazing yacht

Mon Aug 18 10:52:49 CEST 2025 Timsen

On Aug 12, a fire broke out aboard the luxury yacht 'Da Vinci' about 7.3 nautical miles southwest of Punta Gavina (Formentera). The CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo deployed the 'Guardamar Concepción Arenal' and the 'Salvamar Naos', which also transported firefighters to the scene. The seven crew members have been evacuated by the 'Salvamar Naos' and were transferred ashore in good condition. The fire could not be brought under control, and the yacht has finally sank. The 'Guardamar Concepción Arenal' remained in the area, cleaning up debris from the sunken ship. Video: https://x.com/i/status/1954948034413945201
