Survivors rescued by Saga Enterprise on their way home

Fri Nov 23 12:33:40 CET 2012 Timsen

Most of the 15 Chinese and Indonesian survivors of the "Bahari Nusantara" who had arrived at Réunion on Nov 19, left the island on Nov 22. They were taken to Roland Garros Airport in Sainte-Marie. Two remained on the island, one still being in hospital. The "Bahari Nusantara" had been abandoned after the engine room was flooded. The crew spent 17 days on a liferaft intended for ten people until they were spotted by the "Saga Enterprise". They were then transferred to a lifeboat of the SNSM and taken in care of the police and emergency services in Réunion.
