Ferry rescued castaways after wooden boat wrecked
The KM 'Sabuk Nusantara 63', en route from Korido Port to Saribi Port on the morning of Dec 5, 2024, was notified at 9 a.m. LT that the wooden boat KLM 'Cinta Damai 05' had sunk near Rani Island in the Aruri Strait. At 09.15 a..m. the ferry crew remarked an object at sea which was later confirmed as the wrecked boat. The ship immediately manoeuvred towards the position. At 09.30 a.m. the crew and passengers were taken on board in pos. 00°58.433‘ S 135°21.479’ E. The operation was completed at 09.36 a.m. The Chief of Staff conducted a health check and ensured that the castaways were in good condition. After the rescue action was completed, Kthe ferry continued its voyage to Saribi Harbour. Triple allision in Biak
The ferry 'Sinabung' (IMO: 9139672) allided with with the 'Sabuk Nusantara 63' and the 'Sabuk Nusantara 94' (MMSI: 525119085) at the port of Biak in Papua in the evening of April 22, 2022, when being about to dock at the port. First it contacted the anchored 'Sabuk Nusantara 63', and as a result, also hit the 'Sabuk Nusantara 94'. All ships suffered dents.
