Allision in Karlsruhe

Mon Dec 02 11:33:39 CET 2024 Timsen

On Nov 30, 2024, at around 3 p.m., the 'RPG Stockholm' was in allision with the 'Aegle' in the Karlsruhe oil port due to a rudder failure. The ship that was about to set off collided with the other during cargo operations. There was damage to both ships. Small amounts of cargo were spread across the deck of one of the ships, but no cargo leaked into the water. The "emergency stop" safety system was activated immediately and prevented any further leakages from the loading arm. The fire brigade Karlsruhe, ambulances and water police were deployed, along with the fireboat "Pamina", forces from the fire brigade of the Oberrhein Mineral Oil Refinery (Miro) and the volunteer fire brigades of Rheinstetten and Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen. The material damage to the two shipswas totaling around 10,000 euros. The investigation into the cause of the accident was conducted by the Karlsruhe water police station.. No injuries have been reported. Report with photo: https://www.die-neue-welle.de/kollision-zweier-frachtschiffe-im-karlsruher-oelhafen-1229183/
