ROBERT C. SEAMANS 9245483

Tue Nov 02 09:41:23 CET 2010 Timsen

The "Robert C. Seamans" has come to the aid of a Big Island-bound sailboat on Oct 30, 2010. The captain of the 43-foot sailboat "Kehaulani" on Oct 29 had issued a distress call 900 miles southeast of Hilo, saying its sails were frayed and fuel had began to run low. He estimated the vessel would likely run out of fuel 475 miles from the Big Island. There were two people aboard the sailboat. The captain of the "Robert C. Seamans" responded to a SafetyNET message that was issued. The vessels rendezvoused on Oct 30, and the crew of the "Robert C. Seamans" provided 40 gallons of diesel fuel and repaired the sails.
